Bob Shaffer

Bob Shaffer
VP of Special Projects

Bob began working in the electrical trade for his father’s electrical contracting firm while still in high school. Early in his career, he worked for a large electrical contractor in Houston, TX, where he advanced from apprentice to journeyman to service technician. He then moved back to Ohio and was hired as general foreman on a large data center complex that is now known as LexisNexis.

Later, Bob was the operations manager of an electrical contracting firm that specialized in large water and wastewater plant projects throughout the eastern United States. During this time, he maintained his master electrical license in eight states and numerous municipalities.

In 1999, he joined Chapel Electric as Vice President of Contract Operations. In this role, he oversaw the project management staff, along with the CAD coordination team, and acted as the project executive on most major contract projects.
He was promoted to Vice President of Special Projects in 2022 and is currently the project executive for the new OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, OH. He has overall responsibility for the electrical installation of over 1,000,000 square feet of this 1,800,000 square foot building. This is the largest contract Chapel has had in its 80-year history.
Bob currently serves on the Labor Management Cooperation Committee board, is an active member and past chairman of the Federated Electrical Contractor’s Purchasing Group, and has been past chairman of the NECA/IBEW Joint Safety Committee.
